001 OGC Bottom Loops (the fun way)
[Editor’s note: The CZU Lightning Complex Fires have impacted this area. Adjust your shred plans accordingly.]
A shredtacular gem.
38 Miles, 5,000 feet, big trees, big views.
The “fun way” takes you on a figure eight, providing a convenient stop at the car for refuels, good-byes, layer drops, etc.
Ideal shred weapon: Gravel bike, hardtail
Segment 1
.38 miles, 12% uphill grade
The final section of the Gazos Creek climb. Less than half a mile. You’re alive!
Segment 2
Segment 3
3.05 miles, long, fast descent
Starts just after the towers (in the obvious spot). Full send way down to the hard right turn overlooking the coastal farmland (a natural regroup spot before the last couple 100’ down to Hwy 1).
Segment 4
1.31 miles, 6% climb up to the old airstrip that begins just after the viewpoint.
That friend of yours who trains…their favorite segment. The views aint bad though.
Segment 5
Segment 6
2.06 miles down, ends at the hard left at the bottom.
You made it. You shred so hard. Snag some snaps of the crew as they wrap it up.
